Mercs: Bay Area California; 傭兵 Mercs was founded in 2007 by the current Grand Master, E.Gibbins (EK) and long time friend J. Trevizo (Vizo). Starting out as a group of only three they sought out local friends and convinced them to give airsoft a shot. About Me:

I've always had a fascination for almost everything mechanical and socially accepted as masculine hobbies. It wasn't until my brother (Tank) and I visited our uncle in SoCal that my interest in Airsoft was sparked. Eventually our friend Kai introduced us to EK about getting airsoft guns and we made our first purchase of quality guns. Since then the collection has grown to a large number of guns. I have always had a feeling deep down of wanting to be a soldier but had bigger plans in mind, such as being behind the front lines, thus Airsoft became my fixation.

Current Loadout:

Primary : Magpul PTS ACR Masada

Secondary: Tokyo Marui 1911 Government

My first AEG was my Tokyo Marui M14 because I was considering joining a Vietnam Era reenactment group. This set up has allowed me to take up the role of tactical sniper. Finding the need for a more CQC style weapon I purchased a Star UMP and the 1911. After a few years I felt that I needed a middle ground weapon system and decided on an M4 variant, the Magpul Masada.

Play Style:

Depending on the situation, I find myself being a leader in CQB situations, running into rooms trying my best to clear it out for the rest of the team to follow. I rarely find myself being a support guy and end up in the front lines trying to complete the objective... I'm also a person that tries to move people. Very seldom do I use my M14 anymore unless I know the front lines are well managed by the rest of the team.

About Me:

I first got into airsoft back in middle school. My best friend Vizo introduced me to the sport and from there we began experimenting with spring pistols. Fast forward six years to where we began trying to form a team and to get our friends into airsoft. It was actually on our senior trip in Europe where we began to convince a few friends, including Kai. We managed to form up a team of 10 and play up on Vizo’s family property. Nothing was really sure and concrete as teams go, we didn’t even have a name for the group. Now four years late we come to this point. The team has been a dream and a pet project that I never thought would come to term and I am so please that it did. I got into airsoft for the love of its realism. To me milsim is the best, and to participate in milsim with friends is even better.

Current Loadout:

Primary : Tokyo Marui FN P90TR

Secondary: Tokyo Marui FN 5-7

Tokyo Marui Benelli M3 Shorty

I primarily run the above loadout. The P90TR is stock (except for the KMhead 6.04 tight bore) but I plan to do drop in a Systema FTK sometime soon. On the 5-7 I’ve installed a high flow valve, a full polycarbonate Guarder kit (upper and lower) with polycarbonate parts (slide catch, magazine release, and safety), as well as a stainless steel outer barrel. Like Tank, I too have a Tokyo Marui AEP expect I have the M93r. I have recently completed upgrades on my Tokyo Marui MP5k (AMP high torque motor, SP120 spring, stainless bushings, and classic army piston and piston head). My project gun that has been in the works for two years was also just completed. A Classic Army M15a4 RIS with extended 6.04 tight bore, M120 spring, and a ported piston head.

I have also had a thing for sub machine guns and was instantly drawn to the MP5k and P90 when I first saw them. The MP5k was my first AEG and after a few outdoor skirmishes I realized I was in need of a longer barrel length. The P90 has faithfully served me time and time again. I picked up the M15a4 because I had reached a point where I wanted an AR platform and did a barrel extension so that I could have an affordable sniper platform.

Play Style:

I like to get up into the action while maintaining high mobility. I’m agile, move fast, and highly capable of providing cover for the team when necessary.

About Me:
In late 2010, I was asked to try airsoft by my friend Zero. A few years prior, I had frequently played paintball but due to the cost of playing and leaving for college, I retired from the sport. My family collects and competes in real steal firearms regularly which started me off as a shooter at a young age. I compete in IPSC regularly and have spent numerous hours behind real steel guns.

Current Loadout:
Primary: Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 Custom
Secondary: KSC Glock 18C H.E.R.A. Arms Hurricane Carbine

Play Style:
In a CQB environment, I like to fight the enemy right at the front lines, which is complimented by my primary pistol. The versatility and speed of running only a pistol allows me to cover a lot of ground quickly and to be nimble in and around cover in combat. Barrel Length doesn't matter to me, as I can still reach those far targets.

About Me:
I first played airsoft in my high school years. Like many people, it was on someone's private field and with crappy Wal-Mart gun. I played like this a couple times and ended up hating the sport. The way we were playing just seemed so childish and unorganized. It wasn't until college that I encountered the sport again. It was there that I met Zero through my cousin (Defiler). They told me about their airsoft team and invited me to go, but I was hesitant at first due to my prior experiences. One night I decided to go to Airsoft Battlegrounds with Zero, Tank, and Defiler to see what all the hype was about. They loaned me a TM MP5 and I remember thinking that the gun had some weight and was pretty realistic for a replica, unlike the cheap plastic Wal-Mart guns. All the games we played were organized and I had a lot of fun playing. Thanks to the Mercs I decided that airsoft was something I could really enjoy.

Current Loadout:
Primary: G&G CQB/R M4
Secondary: WE Government M1911A1

I really wanted a balanced versatile gun. I wanted something with range but a small foot print. Thanks to help from Tank and Zero, I was able to buy my first AEG, the G&P CQB/R from AEX. This gun has a shorter barrel and RIS than a normal M4, so it makes it easier to hold and maneuver around obstacles.

Play Style:
Since I am fairly new to the sport, I have been trying to figure out what play style suites me best. I've found so far that I like a little bit of everything; to fill whatever role is needed at the time. Sometimes I like to be up close and personal, and sometimes I like to hang back as support. I like to assess the situation and change the way I play according to the scenario. I try to maintain a balance between the two. Whatever my team needs me to be, that's what I will be.

About Me:

Like many people, I first got into airsoft with cheap Chinese guns that were a gift from my uncle. They were the first guns that my brother (Zero) and I had. A year later when we began searching for advice on airsoft guns our friend Kai directed us to EK. He took his time and taught us a lot and helped us to acquire our first quality airsoft guns. I like airsoft because it's MilSim, and that is the closest thing to actually shooting people without harming them. The realism is the best part about airsoft.

Current Loadout:

Primary : Classic Army SCAR-L (assault class)

Classic Army M249 Mk1 (support class)

Secondary: Tokyo Marui P226R

Tokyo Marui USP (AEP)

My first quality purchase was a Tokyo Marui AK-47 with STAR 40mm grenade launcher. I have always liked the AK-47 and the quality was great, TM guns may be weak out of the box but they last. My first secondary was the Tokyo Marui USP AEP. What drew me to this was not having to worry about purchasing gas and maintaining a gas pistol. Feeling the need for a more compact weapon, I purchased a Tokyo Marui MP5 RAS after seeing the quality and performance of Kai’s MP5 A5.

My recent acquirements have become what I primarily run. The first is a Classic Army SCAR-L upgraded with a Systema tight bore, a stronger spring pushing 390fps, upgraded piston head, and motor. When I have clearance to run support I do so with a Classic Army M249 MkI. This gun has been one of my airsoft wet dreams. The price was decent so I went with it but originally I had my sights set on the MkII. One thing is for sure, this beast is heavy. My latest edition is also my first gas blow back, a Tokyo Marui P226R with full metal body kit.

Play Style:

I'm usually a support gunner or a front man. I can spur on a squad and lead them where they need to be. I love to clear rooms and take advancement points with none other than my teammates.

About Me:

Zero is always talking about guns, making them sound so appealing. After doing a photoshoot for the guys I really fell in love with with the active team aspect of airsoft. I enjoy working as a part of a team to secure objectives, eliminate targets, and being physically active. The feel of rushing forward is just absolutely exhilarating and truth be told, rather intoxicating.

Current Loadout:

Primary : Classic Army LWRC M6A2

Secondary: Tokyo Marui 1911 MEU

My first AEG is a Classic Army LWRC M6A2 that I affectionately refer to as Sasha. Realizing the need for a secondary weapon I bought a Tokyo Marui 1911 MEU from Zero. As of yet I have no future plans for more weapons.

Play Style:

I love to charge straight into combat. I am not one for subtlety because I love to get down and dirty. There is nothing more addictive than the adrenaline rush that comes with taking out the enemy. However, this is not to say that I am reckless. I place the team above all else and will work however which way best serves the team. When the time comes to push forward, I’m there.

About Me:

I first became interested in airsoft at a young age when I began playing with my neighbor. I didn’t fully begin to play however, until I was older and fresh out of high school. The strategy and athleticism involved in airsoft had great appeal to me; however a leg injury prevented me from joining any action. When I got wind of the team taking up arms once again, I decided that it was time to get back out on the field. It is a far cry from the realism of war, but playing in an environment where we can simulate battles has always been way too appealing to pass up and thus I had no other choice, but to play the game.

Current Loadout

Primary : Tokyo Marui G3/SG-1

Secondary: Tokyo Marui HiCapa 5.1

I like the G3 for its range, accuracy, and size because I’ve always been one to snipe on the run. Since I’m 6’2” I want to carry a more proportional gun. The HiCapa was obvious choice also due to its great range and accuracy.

Play Style:

I’m very comfortable being the front man and running up before everyone else while sniping from afar to push the enemy back. Then I can creep in and switch to a more “berserker” mode. I want to move in swiftly and take out as many as I possibly can before anyone else can even catch up.
