Airsoft Battlegrounds 26 November 2010 - Tank's Notes

Like Zero had posted, this was our first time going to Airsoft Battlegrounds in Rocklin, CA.
We are excited to play at a new field for ourselves, but to also check out how new this place is (only 2 months old) as we have heard great things from the employees at the Sacramento Airsoft Extreme.
It was helpful that the admission price was very affordable, $20 at standard admission, $10 for military and law enforcement, and since Zero and I went during Black Friday, they had a special of buy one admission, get one free!

Once inside, we set up in the staging area and for future reference I would bring a few chairs and tables for ourselves (since there were so many people!). The rules were simple with regards to no shooting underneath vehicles, and honoring the rules of Parlay (players are too close to engage, so both players take an out regardless of whom shot who first) and BANG BANG (courtesy of calling someone out instead of shooting them close range). Because of the sheer amount of people we had to be divided into 4 teams, with 2 teams rotating about every 10 minutes. Rules varied from semi to full auto, as well as one or no respawns. The games were fast, fun, and the people were indeed friendly. Believe me when I say that not only was the facility great, but the referees and staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I do highly recommend this place (regardless of their sponsorship to our team) and the Mercs hope to be out there again soon in full force!

The staff specified that it was great to come on weekdays (check the website for details) for weekday fun as well as various game types for all levels of players!

Stay tuned for Pt. 2 of our footage from the ASBG game on 11.26.10!

Airsoft Battlegrounds 26 November 2010

Tank and I decided to take a Black Friday trip up to Rocklin, CA, just a little north past Sacramento if you're coming from the Bay Area, to an fairly new arena called Airsoft Battlegrounds. They had a special buy one ticket get one free, so we decided to see what they were all about. When I first played, the set up took some getting used to. I was also using my TM MP5K that I bought from EK, which could probably explain my additional feeling of unfamiliarity. This is fine because according to ASBG's site, they are constantly changing the field to should change up strategies. But after playing a round, Tank and I really took a liking to the field. With the constant change of scenarios every game and being on the clock, we ended up having fun and felt that we got our day's worth of airsofting, regardless of who won or if the game was finished.

The biggest plus is that the people there have great sportsmanship and understand the rule of parlay. This one rule is a big deal and ends all problems of airsofting especially in a CQC settings. And I like that a lot. The prices of the rentals are very reasonable and the pricing of equipment to buy is not going to break the bank either. The staff was very welcoming and professional and the facilities were clean. They have informed us of special days for certain events in their arena, for example Wednesdays are Pistol and Shotgun only days.

POV videos from Tank and Zero will be posted soon! Also, we would like to thank Airsoft Battlegrounds for becoming our latest sponsor.

Tank at Civilian Army Airsoft

On Friday November 5th, I was able to play with a few players from Civilian Army Airsoft located in Vacaville, CA. Pictured I am pictured (left) and with Colorado (right). Colorado has been the owner and
coordinator of the field since its inception (about a year and a half ago). I have nothing but good news about the field and its players. Though I was only able to play two games, the players are friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxed and easy going. The terrain is hilly and
variable with plenty of cover from foliage and trees with bunkers and sandbags to boot. They play variable game types as well. II highly recommend to come and check out the field and have fun playing airsoft! Mercs will be
returning to the field in full force sometime in the near future.

Mercs CQB City Airsoft October 10th 2010 POV Pt.1

Footage recorded from the point of view of EK and TANK. There will be two more parts with footage from four others. Still working out filming, unfortunately when some of us had great rounds, we weren't the ones with the camera. Oh well, it happens. We will be getting more cameras in the future to rectify this situation.
